The Local Studies Library hold annual reports for the City Fire Brigade, 1958-1972 (352.3 M1)
A good history of the service is Manchester Fire Brigade (Archive Publications Ltd. 1988) by Robert F Bonner (q363.378 Bo). The library also possesses a microfilm copy of MS notes for a history of the Brigade written in 1950 by an officer of the Brigade which goes into great detail (MF 444).
