The court appears normally to have met 4 times a year at Easter, Midsummer, Michaelmas and Martinmas, but by the eighteenth century its meetings were twice yearly in March, April or May, and October. In the nineteenth century it met once a year. A member of the Tatton family, or his executors, as Lord of the Manor of Etchells held the court through his Steward. Lists of the jury presentments, and penalties, and the hearing of certain pleas for damages and debt are included, and at the October court the various officials such as moor lookers, moss lookers, constables, bylawmen, assessors and afferors, alefounders and miselayers were elected
The recordsof the manor were received as gift from Mr J. D. Hughes in 1928
