The first ships to be registered in Manchester occured in 1894 [the opening date of the Manchester Ship Canal].
Source:
M110/1 was transferred, in April and May 1971, from the records of the Registry of Shipping and Seamen, stored at the intermediary repository of the Public Record Office, Hayes, Middlesex.
M110/2-3 was transferred (on loan) from the Liverpool Maritime Museum in July 2008 (Acc 2008/50).
