[The UKTMA was formed on 7 March 1961 by the amalgamation of the Cotton Spinners' & Manufacturers' Association and the Rayon Weaving Association. Continuity of functions accounts for the overlap in dates between some of the records of the CSMA and those of the UKTMA. On 1 April 1969 the UKTMA merged with the Textile Finishing Trades' Association and the British Spinners' & Doublers' Association to form the British Textile Employers' Association.]
