Papers relating to Frank Chadwick, who was born c 1877 in Rochdale. Left school at 12 to work in cardloom of local mill. Afterwards he never lost his concern about the dust in the cardroom and its effects on the operatives health. Though he later left mill work to become the sub-postmaster at Healey he lectured in spinning and patented machinery to eliminate cardroom dust.
