The photographs were nearly all taken by Mr. Tom Southern, a keen amateur photographer, cricketer, and community worker. He had also acted as treasurer and executive committee member of the Simpson Memorial Community Association, Moston. He died in 1976. The photos were lent by his only son, Mr. Trevor Southern.
