The collected material belongs to Reverend Freeman and his wife. Reverend Freeman was born in 1924 in Birmingham. After obtaining a Civil Engineering Degree in Cambridge he was later ordained in 1949, and after spending 12 years as a missionary in Nigeria returned to England and settled in Salford. Mrs. Freeman was born in Rusholme in 1920. She trained as a nurse in Manchester before going to Nigeria as a missionary nurse where she met Reverend Freeman.
