Mr Acraman's father was Sydney John Acraman, born 10th June, 1893. He joined the Boys section of the Marines and served in the Navy during the war. He left the Navy in 1922 and went to Prestwich Hospital (then a Mental Hospital) in 1926 as a male nurse. He was also the Band Master. He married Ada Davies on 10th November, 1923. Ada Davies was born in 1899. She had one sister called Jenny. Both came from Top o' th' Fields, Whitefield.
