Mrs. Fletcher was born in 1896 in Staffordshire. She was one of seven children and at the age of thirteen years went into service, working for gentry in Manchester. In 1917 she married George Fletcher. Mr. Fletcher worked as a clerk for the Atlas Express Company before the War and after the War worked for the London Midland and Scottish Railway as a clerk and later manager until his death in 1936.
