Mrs. Perrin was born in New Park Street, Salford, in 1927. Her paternal grandfather was an engine driver; drove train along the dry basin of the Manchester Ship Canal to show construction to V.I.P's. Both Mrs. Perrin's parent born in Salford. Her father served in R.N. Submarines from 1915-1932, then owned a chip shop in Hanky Park, Salford, then became caretaker of office block in Manchester city centre (the family lived in a bungalow on top).
Mrs. Perrin's parents-in-law worked as chauffer and housemaid to the Guinness family in Dublin, were moved to Trafford Hall in 1932 when the Guinness' bought the property.
Mrs. Perrin went to live in Trafford Park in 1948, she now works at North Trafford College of further Education.
