Mr. Blackshaw was projectionist at the Savoy Cinema, Blackburn Road, Darwen. He coupled this with a very keen interest in photography - including trick photography and colour tinting. His wife Mary came from Shropshire and was at one time cashier in the cinema. They married on 20 April 1927. Their house in Avondale Road was built by the cinema owner and they have lived there for over 50 years. 1 daughter called Neatha. Mr. Blackshaw is now 84 and has difficulty recalling details especially dates.
