Donor worked there from 1934 till it closed in 1938 and became Royal Ordnance Factory. Donor's father Jack Johnson, worked there intermittently for about 15 years throughout late 1920's and 1930's. Locomotives made for shipment abroad, to be used by (among others, Palestine Railway, Egyptian State Railway, South Indian Railway, Kenya, Uganda Railway, Barsi Light Railway in India, Tientsen Pukar Railway China.
