The Holiday Fellowship Ltd was set up in 1914 by Mr T A Leonard, previously head of the Countrywide Holidays Association. Within a short time groups began to appear all over the country, all with the same aims of providing 'healthy enjoyment of leisure, love of the open air and social and international friendship'. Above all the Holiday Fellowship sought to provide 'organiser holiday making and other activities'. The Manchester Group of 'H F' Ltd was founded in 1915. It embraces all the aims of the national parent organisation and continues to function successfully in the 1980's.
