Custodial history:
All Souls was built on land given by Sir Oswald Mosley, who laid the foundation stone on 26 October 1839. It was consecrated on 18 November 1840 (William Hayley). Its first minister was Dr. Samuel Warren, a former Methodist. It was assigned a District by Order in Council, 27 April 1842 (London Gazette, 19 July 1842), part of which was transferred to the new District of St. Philip's, Bradford Road, by Order in Council, 9 March 1850 (London Gazette 22 March 1850). It was enlarged by Order in Council, 51 July 1858 (London Gazette 13 August 1858). In 1960 the parishes of St. Andrew's, Ancoats and All Souls were united as the parish of All Souls with St. Andrew (Order in Council, 3 August, London Gazette, 5 August 1960), All Souls becoming the parish church. In 1966 St. Mary's, Beswick was added to the parish, which became simply All Souls (Order in Council, 22 June, London Gazette, 24 June -1966). Declared reduntant 1 October 1984.
