It was assigned a District as Christ Church, Harpurhey cum Moston, by Bishop's Instrument, 14 Feb.1839, confirmed by Order in Council, 8 June 1854 (London Gazette, 16 June 1854), with slight alterations, by Order in Council 24 June (London Gazette, 1 July 1856) Some of the District was assigned to the new Albert Memorial, Collyhurst, by Order in Council 7 Jan. 1865 (London Gazette, 10 Jan. 1865) and to the new St. Mary's Moston, by Order in Council, 9 Aug. 1870 (London Gazette 12 Aug. 1870). In 1898 the District was divided and part assigned to the new St. Stephen's, Harpurhey (Order in Council, 9 Aug., London Gazette, 12 Aug. 1898). In 1900 part was assigned to the new Holy Trinity, Blackley (Order in Council, 7 Aug., London Gazette, 14 Aug. 1900). The boundaries with St. Stephen's were altered by Order in Council, 12 Mar.
