Custodial history:
Mrs. Monks (née Pye) moved to Trafford Park in 1902, aged 10. She was born in Widnes, moved to Openshaw and finally to the Park where her father got work at Westinghouse, as a wood turner. Mrs. Monks was widowed just after the First World War and had two daughters, Alice and Eva. Mother and daughters were very active in St. Cuthbert's Church of England affairs, hence the large collection of photographs. (They were responsible for selling photographs of church processions and events to raise funds for the Mothers' Union.) Mrs. Monks moved from Trafford Park to Urmston in 1955.
