Miss Gath's father Frederick was born in 1876 and was an agricultural produce merchant, and a keen amateur photographer. Her mother Miss Wilkinson was born in 1878 and was a teacher at St. Margarets Infant's School, Whalley Range until her marriage in 1905. They lived in Norton Street. Donor's grandfather Mr. Wilkinson was a journalist for the Manchester Courier, then later a freelance. He was a keen cyclist.
