Born 1894 March 30th. Atkin Lane, Darcy Lever, Bolton. Father - warehouseman in mill. There were four in the family, they were relatively well-off but all the family worked in the mill. Mr. Worsley went to Hough School and then passed a scholarship exam and went to the Municipal School. He started at 13 as a piecer and then became a spinner. Fought in the First World War. Married 1922. Lived in Bolton all his life.
