Mrs. Burns, nee Hilda Kennedy was born 1914 in Newton Heath. She had three sisters who all died and one brother Richard. Started work at 14 in Marlborough No.2. Mill. She now suffers from Bysinosis. Mr. Edwin Felix Hawkins - Burns, was born 1916 in Southend-on-Sea, and was adopted by a couple living in Hollingsworth, he started work at Swanns, The Music Shop, Shakespeare Street, stayed for half a day and then had various jobs before working for 20 years at Metro Vicks in Old Trafford.
