Edith Winnifred Taylor (nee Sanders) came to Ashton in 1934. Her father, Ernest Saunders, was originally from Wolverhampton, and lived in Northenden Road, Moss Side where he had a chemists shop. He married Mary Ann Allison (born 1874) who died in 1924 aged 50. They had 3 children : Edith, Kathleen Mary and Dorothy.
