Mrs. Richmond (nee Nicholson) born in Second Street, Trafford Park in 1919. One of six children, all girls (see deposit 388, Mrs. Hope her sister). Her father was moved by his firm, Ashworth's Timber Merchants, from Rossendale to new works in Trafford Park in 1909. The family moved from Second Street to a larger house on Westinghouse Road after all the children were born. Mrs. Richmond left school to work as a typist at J.C.M. Ltd., Third Avenue, Trafford Park, then to English Textilose Ltd., Trafford Park, then to do war-work at Metropolitan-Vickers, Trafford Park. Married in 1945, (husband from Chorlton), and moved to 237, Second Street, Trafford Park. Two children. Returned to Metro-Vicks once children at Secondary School.
