Mrs. Langridge (nee Ainsworth) has lived in Hyde all her life. Her grand-father and father were felt hatters and had a business in Hyde. Just before the war her father Reginald Ainsworth, modernized the works and it subsequently collapsed. He died of a broken heart. Mrs. Mavis Langridge was born in 1924 and now works as a part-time secretary and teaches Scottish dancing.
