Custodial history:
Founded in 1853, the Sharp Street Ragged School was a charity set up as a Sunday School for those who were too ashamed to attend other places of worship (hence the name). In addition, the School has also functioned as a food dispensary in times of need and a youth centre hosting activities and organising holidays for local children. The building was rebuilt in 1869 and was restored again in 1990.
