The Society's first meetings were held in a barn in Millington from the mid-eighteenth century. A Sunday school was established at Hoo Green in 1833 and a chapel opened in 1834. It was part of Altrincham Wesleyan Circuit, after 1932 Altrincham Methodist Circuit. There were no regular preachers at the church from 1941 and the building was eventually sold in 1955.
