The first services in Carrington were held in the house of Thomas Unsworth in 1825, though a preaching room was acquired soon afterwards. A chapel was eventually built in 1875 and was part of the Lymm and Altrincham Primitive Methodist Circuit. After the union of the Methodist connexions in 1932, the Carrington society was transferred to Altrincham Methodist Circuit. The church closed in 1958.
