Opened 6 September 1880 with Boys, Girls and Infants Departments. The Infants Department opened at Brook Street 14 January 1878 and transferred to the new premesis at Queen Street 6 September 1880. A new building for the Boys Department was opened 12 August 1895 with accommodation for 528 children and took children from the closed Ashton New Road School, Bradford. On 23rd August 1925 the Boys Department became a Girls' Central School and the Boys and Girls Departments were amalgamated to form a Mixed Department in the former Girls Department building. On 20 August 1933 the school was again reorganised into two departments - Senior Mixed, and Junior Mixed and Infants.The Senior Mixed Department became a Seconadry Modern School in 1947 and was later named Philips Park County Secondary School. It closed 24 July 1964. Queen Street County Primary School closed 20 March 1970 and the children were transferred to neighbouring schools.
