In 1866 a building was secured in Burnage Lane for use as a mission room. A Sunday school was started in 1887. The Burnage Lane site was rebuilt and the new church opened in 1892. It was part of the Stockport (Tiviot Dale) Wesleyan Circuit. The Society moved to another new building further along Burnage Lane in 1908. This church was burnt down in 1963 and the society amalgamated with that of St Paul's ex-Wesleyan Church in Didsbury in January 1964.
