The first Wesleyan chapel in Davyhulme was opened in 1779 and was situated in Moorside Road. It became part of Salford Wesleyan Circuit, established in 1813, then moved to the newly-formed Manchester 4th Wesleyan (Great Bridgewater Street) Circuit in 1827. The Sunday school, established in 1785, moved to its own building in Moorside Road in 1846 and was joined by a day school in 1854. The church moved to a new circuit in 1872, Manchester (City Road) Wesleyan Circuit, and moved to a new building, in Brook Road, in 1905. The day school closed in 1911, but the Sunday school continued and moved to a new building next to the church in 1938. The church joined Stretford and Urmston Methodist Circuit in 1951.
