Custodial history:
Loret Kei Lee came in the 1960s from Hong Kong. Studied in Hull University in child psychology. Got a job as a child psychologist for Manchester's council in the 1960s. He also taught at the university. Took interest in Chinatown and helped out as volunteer. Lobbied for the consulate to be here, the airport to be here as well as cultural endeavours such as the Chinese arch. He established the Manchester Chinese Education Community Cultural Centre School (now known as the Manchester Chinese Cultural Centre School) in 1979. He built up many Chinatown organisations. Died in 1996 from cancer.
