Reports to Committee

This subsection mainly includes reports by the chief librarian to the Libraries Committee level. For reports to sub-committees see the relevant series in M740/1. For special committee reports 1916-1939 see M740/1/7/2.

The organisation of reports changes over the years: the early reports are handwritten in one volume (M740/2/7/1/1), while later reports are fixed into the Libraries Committee minute books. In the mid-twentieth century reports were filed together by subject for donations, exhibitions, extra-mural and staff reports. These filed copies have been retained for ease of reference (although note that these series may not be complete), while individual copies from 1960s onwards have been disposed of.
