Draft articles of co-partnership drawn up by Holden, Taylor and Andrews of Bolton le Moors, Lancashire, between James Unsworth, Benjamin Davies and Henry Griffith Rule to become partners in the trades or businesses of bleachers, dyers, finishers and farmers. The partnership to be called James Unsworth and Company. The business to begin trading 1.7.1848 and to be conducted from The Huyton Bleach Works in Blackrod, Lancashire, and any other place to be agreed on by the partners from time to time. The capital of the partnership to consist of £3000 to be contributed as follows: £500 James Unsworth; £500 Benjamin Davies; £2000 Henry Griffith Rule. James Unsworth and Benjamin Davies to get £200 per annum salary payable quarterly. If either of them is away from work for more than thirty days in any one year, except on business or through ill health, he shall be fined £2.00 per day to be deducted from his salary at the end of the year. 29-page document is signed 11.7.1848.
