Includes correspondence and copy memorandum of Borough of Rawtenstall Education Department, copy letter to Rossendale Free Press, printed circular letter to Councillors, letter to Board of Education from H. Rees-Jones in capacity as Chairman of Managers stating objections to proposed closure. Letters of support from National Society and Manchester Diocesan Council for Education. Notice of public enquiry to be held on 12 Mar, 1935. A further public enquiry is held the following year after parents have refused to remove their children and kept the school running, and now propose the provision of a new Public Elementary School at the site opposed by Rawtenstall Borough Council (copy of A. L. Thornton's report of enquiry held 2 Apr 1936).
