This refers to a performance of the Manchester Jewish Amateur Minstrels, held under the auspices of the Manchester Jewish Social and Bowling Club, 124 Bignor Street, Hightown (of which A. Donn was the president), in aid of the Manchester Northern Hospital. The singers were presumably performing in the style of the `black minstrels' popular in contemporary music-hall act.
