They would leave Manchester Victoria station on the 4.15p.m. train and they would return on the midnight train. The cost of the trip was 2s-6d which included not only the train fare but also admission to the Tower or the Winter Gardens. David's friends are Eli Flash (standing next to David Henick, left of the photograph) - a machinist by trade - Ike Taylor (seated left) - a machinist by trade who went to live in King's Road, Prestwich, and David's cousin Harry Fink (seated right) who lived in Sheffield.
