It reads: Mr Martin Schmalz now Martin Martins of 5 Ashfield Road, Urmston, Manchester, was from October 1927 to September 1933 at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (formerly Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Physical and Electro Chemistry) as a technical assistant.
