Additional information supplied by Brian R Robinson, added to catalogue in August 1997. The Bleriot monoplane shown in this picture was owned by Claude Grahame-White, but flown at the 1910 Blackpool Meeting by W. H. McArdle. He is said to have been `uncomfortable' with the machine and, on 1 August 1910 he made a forced lan.d.ing near to the aerodrome at Squire's Gate with the results shown in the picture.
