Tetlow Grove House History Book No.1

Tetlow Grove House, Tetlow Fold, Cheetham Hill. This book contains the admission details of boys and girls to Tetlow Grove House. Contains information on child's name, number of home admitted to, date of admission, birthplace, date of birth, name and address of parents, details of admission and subsequent report of the case. This home was set up in 1897 to provide for children under the age of ten, who still had one or more parent and so could not not be admitted into the orphan homes, but who were badly neglected. The home was rented from Mr John Cooper from the 25 Dec 1896. In 1903 the building was closed and the service transferred to Number 8, George Street.
