Archives
Photograph album containing photographs taken in America and Canada. Most photographs contain images of children who have been emigrated to Ontario and Grenfell working in their new homes. Also contains a picture of Reverend Robert Wallace, who ran Marchmont, and Norman L. Lee, an agent in Grenfell. From the pictures contained in the album it is likely they were taken around 1894. This would coincide with a visit to Canada from Gilbert Kirlew. who was a recognised authority on child emigration at that time and possibly took the photographs. Also contains some photographs taken in Buffalo, USA where some of the boys were now resident.
