Hot Peaches were founded in New York City in 1972 by Jimmy Camicia and Ian Mackay. With outrageous high street camp, the company soon achieved a following among New York's gay community. They subsequently became renowned for extravagant musical lampoons on sexual oppression. They brought their show, 'Christopher Street Columbus', to London in the summer of 1992 and hoped to come to Manchester, though there is no evidence they actually did.
