Sadie Lee is a painter best known for 'Erect', her unflinching double portrait of a couple who simultaneously embrace and push each other away. Lee's work has a tense electric quality and a sense of vaudevillian theatricality. Manchester City Art Galleries presented her one woman exhibition from 10 September - 16 October 1994 as part of that year's festival. Sadie Lee talked about her work at a separate event at the same venue on Wednesday 28 September.
