Electric Blanket' was a slide show compilation of photographic work from around the world that dealt with AIDS. Originally conceived by Nan Goldin and Allen Frame, with the Visual AIDS Artists' Caucus for 'Day Without Art 1990,' 'Electric Blanket' expanded as it toured globally to new sites. It portrayed the enormity of the AIDS pandemic and conveyed its impact on a personal, emotional level. Current facts and statistics, gathered from such sources as the World Health Organization, The Center for Disease Control and The Red Cross, are interspersed with images in an effort to educate as well as to plead for compassion and action.
