Mark Ravenhill's play 'Shopping and Fucking, premiered at the Royal Court Theatre, London, in the autumn of 1996. Directed by Max Stafford Clark, the play is a bleakly comic picture of a disinherited generation. After two sell out runs at the Royal Court Theatre, the West End and the Edinburgh Festival, 'Shopping and Fucking' received its Manchester premiere as part of queerupnorth's 1998 season. It was presented at the Library Theatre from Monday 11-Saturday 16 May.
