For its 1998 season queerupnorth, presented three exhibitions. 'art2go,' consisting of artists James Barrett and Robin Forster, presented 'Vertigo,' which was inspired by accounts of gay men scattering the ashes of their loved ones on the dancefloors of Sydney, London, New York and San Francisco. The work consisted of x-ray photographs of men having sex. 'Vertigo' was presented at the Castlefield Gallery Friday 1 May-Sunday 21 June. The work of Los Angeles based artist Lari Pittman was presented at Cornerhouse from Saturday 16 May-Sunday 5 July. Finally 'Red Donkey,' also known as Ian Shepherd presented his cartoons, satirising and celebrating gay experience in the 1990s at Paradise Factory throughout the festival.
