Video comprises Nigel Kellaway in 'This Most Wicked Body: 240 Hours on Stage - A Performance Marathon'. At 12pm on 17 November 1994 he was confined in the theatre and courtyard foyer of the Performance Space, Sydney, where he remained for 24 hours a day until 9.30pm on 26 November. From 12pm each day Nigel Kellaway presented a solo performance in the theatre. It was a marathaon exercise in maintaining the actor's theatrical presence. The main evening's performance began at 8pm each day. Nigel Kellaway was joined on stage by percussionist David Montgomery and restaurateur Gay Bilson. Theatrical material that had been improvised upon during the day was given definition within the context of Nigel's evening meal. Prior to this performance he invited a member of the audience to dine with him on stage. At the end of the day, when the audience left, Nigel remained to sleepon stage each night, waking to prepare for the next day's performance. Video artist Peter Oldham pursued Nigel Kellaway and filmed him during and between performance. This documentation was edited each day and presented on monitors installed in the theatre. This video comprises an edited documentary of Nigel Kellaway's season. Footage is selected from several nights on stage, rather than a single performance. Contains material that may be considered offensive.
