Video comprises a performance of Raimund Hoghe's show 'Meinwarts' (If I Were You), which uses light, space and music to develop the story of the singer Joseph Schmidt who died in a internment camp. The performance features images of the singer's disability and life and reflects upon the legacy of those friends of Hoghe's that have died of AIDS. Raimund Hoghe is a dancer, choreographer, film maker and writer. He works with intimate material that draws on historical events, his own life and the unique characteristics of his body. With these means Hoghe explores the themes of love, loneliness, xenophobia and racism. This performance of 'Meinwarts' was recorded on 28 April 1995 at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London.
