This collection includes materials relating to the establishment of Rainbow Noir as a support group for LGBTQI people of colour. This includes contact leaflets with information about the group, location and links to online content through Twitter and Facebook. Other material within the collection include articles in Out NorthWest (ONW), a magazine published by the Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) a registered national charity; and The Nubian Times, a Manchester based multimedia publication, discussing sexuality, stereotypes, LGBT history month awareness, Black history month and the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans movement.

This collection has been collated by Rainbow Noir. The material within this collection was donated to the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre in 2015. The collection was donated in order to build a historic archive representing the voice of the LGBTQI in regards to the people of colour who form a significant part of this community.

Rainbow Noir is a social and peer support group founded in February 2013 for people of colour (P.O.C) who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Intersex (LGBTQI). Rainbow Noir arranges meetings, themed discussions, group sharing/activities and workshops by local facilitators, and these events are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at Manchester's LGBT Centre on Sidney Street.
