Subject: This text tracks the history of Broklyn Illinois, the first "black" town. It was founded by black fugitives as a freedom town but as Cha-jua documents, soon beame a provider if cheap labour for white industrial towns and he concedes that freedom which it envisaged did not stop the town from becoming another exemplar of internal colonialism.
