American comedy in which an ageing actor must face his own mortality and mend a broken relationship with his son. When partying and debauchery catches up on Atticus (Jeremy Irons) in the form of a massive heart attack, his doctor instructs him to curb his bad habits and make serious lifestyle changes. His disappointment is only just beginning, however, when his daughter's upcoming wedding means his estranged son, Adam (Jack Huston) must escort him across the country to arrive in time, and responsibly, for his daughter, Annabelle (Mamie Gummer)'s nuptials. While Atticus suffers a strained relationship with his son, Adam, following a tough divorce with Adam's mother, they must set aside their differences if they are to attend Annabelle's big day and reunite as a family.
