Summary:
Walking down the Warwick Road is the first of two selections of Manchester United games I’ve wrote about over the years. (Part Two) following shortly. This version takes in 1957-1969 covering the Busby Babes and the sixties sides. The epic European encounters against the likes of the magnificent Real Madrid, Athletic Bilbao and Red Star Belgrade. Then came the horrors of the Munich Air Disaster, and the journey for redemption starts as the reds fight back from the abyss, finally winning the European Cup ten years later. We also take in United’s ill-fated quest to become World Club Champions against the ruthless Argentinians of Estudiantes. And end with a last stand of the European cap against AC Milan in 1969. A wonderful cast of characters. It is a storyline if pitched to Hollywood they would turn it down saying don’t be ridiculous. That’s simply impossible!
I hope you enjoy.
