Custodial history:
The cause was established in January 1846 when a Sunday school was set up in an upper room in Poland Street. It soon became evident that larger premises were needed and a site at the corner of Oldham Road and Osborne Street was chosen as the place for the new chapel. The building was completed within a year and the opening services were held on 4 September 1850. Oldham Road Chapel celebrated its centenary, but it eventually closed in 1971.
